New Year, New Outlook

Here's hoping that 2011 is more productive in every
way. Paint more, ride more, attend more art shows,
spend more time with the grandkids, go to the
mountains more, do more frame custom framing.
I'm starting off the year with a solo show at the Lewistown Art Center during the month of February. It was a long ways off when I signed up for this month about a year and a half ago. Now the time a come to gather my paintings, gear and get it together. Coming up with a title for the show is hard... finding a concise phrase to say what the exhibit is about, not just horses and landscape. Came up with "Intrigued by Horses, Captivated by Landscape".
Pat posted her watercolor painting in progress. A nice still life. Its interesting to see paintings in progress to watch them change. Thanks Pat :).
Cheers for a good new year!
Here is a new one for the show in Lewistown. "Golden Hills" horses enjoying the last of the grass before winter hits. The landscape is in the foot hills of the Rockies near Choteau. I added the river for a ribbon of blue to help join the panels and tie in the sky. This will be a triptych when framed. The tilt of the panels on the easel changes the lighting for the camera. The intensity of the colors is equal on all panels.
